With over 30 years of leadership in the hospitality industry, Doug Morrison brings a wealth of real-world experience, a dash of humor, and a deep passion for people to everything he does. As an executive, coach, and consultant, Doug’s playbook is simple: build strong teams, lead with purpose, and never underestimate the power of a well-timed laugh. His operational philosophy centers on leveraging individual strengths, tightening systems, and creating work cultures where excellence and a little fun go hand in hand.

Doug holds a B.S. in Psychology and is a Certified Food & Beverage Executive (CFBE) through the Culinary Institute of America. He also served in the U.S. Army as a Behavioral Health Specialist, where he supported service members while conducting research in human behavior health and performance.

Doug’s written work reflects his leadership ethos. He’s the author of several hospitality-focused books, a regular contributor to blogs, podcasts, and TV segments, and a frequent speaker at industry conventions. But his passion doesn’t stop there—he also writes heartfelt, practical books that encourage dads to show up, grow up, and level up their fatherhood game.

Now part of the Inkwell Mavericks team, Doug is excited to bring his experience and storytelling know-how to support fellow authors who are ready to share their message with the world.
